Fibroid Adventure – The Finale

Continued from Fibroid Adventure Part 2

Sunday, 6 January 2008

My SIL and Emma came early on Sunday, my third day in the maternity ward of Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital. Bless her for keeping me company coz I was feeling kind of bored. Dr Fauziah came over on her daily rounds to say that I was recovering very well. She did say something disturbing which was one of my tubes was blocked and it had gone all “crooked”. However, that would not create any problems in the future and she said there was nothing she could do about the situation but that should not stopped me from having kids at all. That was a relief to hear. She also told me to move a lot more and that I may be discharge on Monday or Tuesday depending on the blood volume in the bottle. She also told the nurse to remove my drip needle.

Emma and her mother left at lunch just as hubs came over so I was with company throughout the day which suits me just fine.

I was so confident that I was going to go home today that I woke up very early and cleaned myself up (yeap I walk by myself to the toilet – albeit very slowly). I changed to fresh new blouse and sarong. I waited and waited for the doctor and somehow I fell asleep.

When the doctor came, I was fast asleep..lolz!!.. She checked my charts, and my blood drainage and noticed only a 10ml increased so decided that it was alright to remove the bandages and the tubes. I was so happy to see the bandage removed and noticed immediately what a great job Dr Fauziah did with the stitching and immediately congratulated her on a job well done. I’m still sexy! Lolzzz..

She tried distracting me with small talk while removing the tube but the moment she started cutting the stitches that was holding the tube in place, I started paying attention to what she was doing. I let out a little scream as she removed the tube. She said obviously her small talk did not do the trick in distracting me….lolzzz..I don’t think so!

Anyway.. I’m free.. free from all tubes and drips and bottles. And the good news? I can go home!! Yeayyyyyyy!!!!

I called hubby and PaMa and let them know the good news… LJ’s coming home!!

The checkout finally happened at around 2pm with the bills amounting to a whooping RM9,428.54!

Goodbye Ampang Puteri and hello PaMa’s guest room!

* the end *

Cheerio…

    No problems with GP.. It also served as an online journal so I will always remember what I went through and if anyone else benefit from the experience all the better. Also I purposely put the cost down so that others would know what to expect in terms of cost for such an operation. I know I would have loved to know b4 as well.

    Yes.. Alhamdullilah.. all went well.. recovery also going smoothly.. I’ll be running in no time!…

    Hugs GP!!!
